TDP is the double curvature curved surface slider type seismic isolation device, developed by TİS. TDP is composed of two backing plates with the same radius of curvature and a sliding element at the center. Upper and lower parts of the sliding element have the same properties and identical radius of curvature with the backing plates. Therefore, upper and lower backing plates remain parallel to each other during relative sliding motion.

Sliding takes place on both mating surfaces between backing plates and sliding element, simultaneously. During earthquake motion, displacement demand is accommodated by sliding of two different materials on top of each other at the mating surfaces. Energy dissipation is also achieved by friction force that occurs as a result of this sliding. Materials in the sliding surfaces are;


• stainless steel sheet on backing plate side,
• special friction material, Technoslide®, developed and patented by TİS, on the sliding element side.
