TSP is the single curvature curved surface slider type seismic isolation device, developed by TİS. TSP is composed of two backing plates with different radius of curvature and a sliding element at the center. Upper and lower parts of the sliding element have identical radius of curvature with their corresponding backing plates. One surface of the sliding element of TSP is located on the steel backing plate and accommodates for the horizontal displacement. This surface also determines the oscillation period. Other surface of the sliding element is attached to the other backing plate in order to prevent the horizontal movement. This surface only accommodates rotation. Thanks to simultaneous horizontal movement of the sliding element on the backing plate and the rotational movement between sliding element and the other backing plate, upper and lower backing plates of TSP remain parallel to each other during the earthquake motion.
