TIS Earthquake Technologies
TSB (TIS Spherical Bearing) device is the spherical bearing type structural bearing used in civil engineering structures to connect different structural elements wherever a force or moment release is needed.
TSB consists of several steel elements rotating and sliding on each other based on structural demands and patented special sliding materials Technoslide on sliding/rotating surfaces.
The working principle of TSBs is basically to transmit the forces generated in one part of a structure to another part of the same structure at the desired rate during frequent service effects such as traffic, expansion, shrinkage, etc. TSB devices also allow very high level of rotation.
TSB, eliminating the aging and other physical vulnerabilities of elastomeric component of TPB, ensures extremely high performance and durability and considered superior to TPB devices.
TSBs are designed in accordance with the conditions specified in all relevant parts of EN 1337, especially EN 1337-1, EN 1337-2 and EN 1337-7. When needed, other international and/or local codes such as AASHTO, can also be used in design and production of TSB devices.
TSBs can be designed and manufactured in 3 different types according to the structural demands. It also shall be noted that all three types of TSB devices can be designed and manufactured to resist “uplift” forces as well.
● Fixed spherical bearing : TSB-FX
● Free sliding spherical bearing : TSB-FS
● Guided sliding spherical bearing : TSB-GS
